In the T20, Oakleigh firstly played Malvern in the semi-final. Batting first Oakleigh made 5/158 with Sam Jones 65 and Brent Warren 47. In reply, Malvern were 9/118 with Jarrod Travaglia taking 5/12 in a terrific display. The game was played in hot, humid and windy conditions at EE Gunn reserve in Ormond. A little over an hour later, and with the cool change having arrived, Oakleigh played Plenty Valley in the Final at Caulfield oval. It was a tough game between two credentialled teams. Oakleigh batting first was restricted to 6/131 with Jarrod Travaglia not out 44 and Brendan McGuinness 27. Plenty Valley made a strong start to their innings with a powerful batting display however this could not be sustatined with Oakleigh holding Plenty Valley to 9/119. Again, Jarrod Travaglia was the difference with the ball taking 5/17. In all, Jarrod took 10 wickets across the two finals, an excellent result. The Club congratulates Jarrod (Captain), Brendan McGuinness (Coach) and the entire team on their successful T20 campaign and Championship win. This is the Club’s third T20 crown and with this win, the Club has won back to back Championships.
